  With no seasonal trailers it was amazing to get 6 sites all together last minute for the long weekend.

  Now having said all of this, I would recommend the campground for the God-given beauty of the place, the lovely river, beach and for the sites nestled amongst the trees. Read the RULES on their website before you book. But if over the top RULES are not your thing, and being given a lesson on recycling and being insulted on your intelligence by a staff member over something as trivial as a plastic water bottle is not your thing, then I would suggest this is not the place for you. Bring clear garbage bags!

  I would have to agree with some of the other comments, place is nice but it was a money grab. 20 dollars per head, 50 for a small bundle of wood. They say it is ATV friendly buts its not. You can't even go and get ice or wood with your ATV, yet the owner and his crew will deliver ice and wood to you for a fee on ATV's. We were not causing any trouble and he was over to our campsite 3 times on day one. They have a speed limit of 10km and he drives faster than that but hassles you because you have 5 ATV's driving together and he thinks you were speeding. Constantly complains about speed. The rules here are crazy. No wood aloud in because they want to over charge you.........we were on the trail most of the days but felt like he was always hassling us. We weren't loud and we didn't have any party's. We had 7 people, a tent, and a Toy hauler. Would have been a good experience if they were a little less strict and the owner had better customer service.

  There are boats/canoes for rent here - but not nearly enough to accommodate the amount of people staying here. Sites were loud at night and not private at all. (We were near the beach.) Our site was missing a grate over the fire pit, there are no picnic benches - just a bunch of tables that cannot be moved, the firewood here is expensive and burns really fast (about $10 for an hours worth of wood)

  We had a negative experience at this camp ground similar to what other people posted. As campgrounds go, the property itself is spacious and the sites that are nestled into the trees are lovely. The lake is beautiful and the camping area around the lake (tents only) is also beautiful. The sites are spacious and the electricity and water poles are easily accessible to the trailers. The washroom facilities for the trailer area are close in proximity. I am giving a 3 rating because of all these things and the grounds itself. It is not the property that was the problem however, it was the staff. When we arrived we were greeted by a very lovely lady from NB. She was pleasant and accommodating. We went there to ATV. There were 9 of us. We are members of an ATV club where we live and we respect the machines, and the sport. The campground says that it is ATV Friendly. Although you can park your machines on your site, and you can reach the trails (the #27) just down the road from the park, that`s where it ends. You are not permitted to start your machine before 9:00 a.m. You are not permitted to ride your machine unless you are leaving the park to go to the trails or coming back into the park. That means no riding the machine to go to the store to buy ice or firewood and it was quite a long walk from where our sites were. Firewood was not permitted in the park from any source. You were not permitted to buy wood down the road and bring it in. You had to buy their wood at $10.00 a bundle which was soft wood so it burned within an hour. You were not allowed to have a table top barbeque for fear of burning or otherwise damaging the picnic tables. The picnic tables were so old, rotted and moss covered that a burn mark might have helped the table not ruined it. Garbage and recycling. This issue is what has prompted me to write this review to begin with. There is a blue garbage bin at the end of each site and a black one. Black one is for garbage and blue is for recycling. The recycling does not have to be bagged. The black garbage one does. BUT, you can only use clear plastic garbage bags for garbage. May I suggest that when a camper registers that a clear plastic garbage bag is given to each site as part of the registration?

  So our unpleasant experience happened when two much older men came around on an ATV with a trailer. The one man dug into our black garbage bin and produced two plastic water bottles. He admonished us like small children in a patronizing voice telling us that this was not garbage it was recycling and that we should not only know the difference, but that he was going to charge us $25.00 to go through the garbage to remove the recycling! That was completely unnecessary and infuriating. The showers - There was no light over the showers making it very dark and no chairs or mats in the showers. A chair or bench might prevent a personal injury and a lawsuit. Finally, RULE enforcement. Every hour, one of the gentlemen on the ATV would drive through the park, shining flashlights into the sites to check on things. I believe in security. I do not believe in breaching my personal space by shining a flashlight like a police officer into our weekend residence when there was no concern from this group as to noise or any other violation.

  I had a negative experience camping here for Canada Day 150 long weekend. While the park itself is beautiful and the beach is nice, it felt a little bit like a money grab (paying per person, not per site). We were a small group that was quiet, respectful and kept to ourselves but I found that the owners of this place were still rude and really short with us - and have a lot of strict rules. (Don't take any dead sticks from the forest to roast your marshmallows - don't put garbage in their site bins, it's for recycling only, etc.)

  Just spent the July long weekend at this park, we had a great time. Beach was beautiful. Stayed in the 30 amp trailer section, sites were large which was great for our large group to all hang out. Previous reviews about crazy rules now seem exaggerated to me since we had no issues what so ever with a group of 6 trailers/12 people 3 dogs and a baby. Would definitely recommend. We will be back.

  My verdict? Great place if you want to bring a huge group and party but as for me I won't be returning.
